More than 80 genera and over 2500 species of fish are to be found in these waters and Bali offers every kind of diving experience, from beginner to veteran, with a range of underwater choices that are rarely found together in one location. Whether it be exploring oldwrecks, drifting along the ocean current or venturing down some of dramatic wall dives on the planet, the waters around Bali are a rich and rewarding ocean environment that will excite divers at every level.

PADI diving courses

Bali offers a full range of diving courses, from a one or half day Discover SCUBA diving courses for absolute beginners to PADI Instructor for those wishing to progress to diving professional levels. The most popular diving courses in Bali is the PADI Open water ticket for an international licence, as well as specialist courses in underwater photography, videography, deep and night diving. Rescue diving and Emergency First Response tuitions are also available.

The waters around Bali are home to a wonnderful diversity of marine life, and divers can expect to experience the full wonders of underwater exploration. Depending on the season in Bali, divers can see the giant sunfish on their annual migration, manta ray, reef sharks, turtles and many species of rare and unusual marine life.

Where to dive in Bali

East of Bali.
Gili Tepekong, Gili Biaha and Gili Mimpang - Only for experienced divers. Other spots are Amed,Tulamben (wreck of USS Liberty), Padang Bai, Balina Beach.

South Bali.
Nusa Lembongan - One of the Bali’s biggest dive sites. Sheltered coral reefs provide outstanding diving and snorkel, but be aware of strong undertows. Nusa Ceningan, Nusa Penida - Witness the most diverse variety of fish and coral, also beware of strong currents!

North Bali - Pulau Menjangan
An island covering 7,000 hectares of coastal waters and coral reef, within the confines of Bali Barat National Park. Early morning is the best time to dive. Lovina Beach - Calm inner reef area.Good place to teach kids to snorkel.

Lombok
Bali’s neighbouring island. Off its coast are the famous Gili isles, with some of the best snorkel and diving in the region. Be aware of potentially strong currents between these islands.
